Billing FAQ Do you accept my insurance?
Dermatology Associates of Wisconsin does accept the majority of the insurance providers in the area that the clinic is located. Please click here to find a list of all of the common insurance providers that we accept. If you are not finding your insurance provider listed, you can contact your insurance provider to see if we are in network with your plan. On the front or the back of your insurance card you will find a phone number that will allow you to contact your insurance provider to determine if we are in or out of network.
What is a co-pay?
A co-pay, or co-payment, is a small fixed amount of money that the insurance provider requires the insured to pay at the time of service each time a patient comes in for an office visit.
When will I receive a statement?
If you have insurance coverage, you will receive a statement from Dermatology Associates of Wisconsin after we receive an explanation of benefits from your insurance provider. If you do not have insurance coverage, you will receive a statement about a week after your office visit. If you do not owe anything for a specific visit after the insurance responds, you will not receive a statement from Dermatology Associates of Wisconsin; only if you have a balance on your account will you receive a statement from us.
What if I believe I received a statement in error?
If you believe that you received a statement in error you can call the Dermatology Associates of Wisconsin billing department at 1-866-630-9882 and they will be more than willing to assist with any of your questions.
What if I don't have insurance?
Dermatology Associates of Wisconsin will evaluate and treat your dermatology condition regardless of insurance. For patients without insurance, $75 will be required before seeing the physician. Once you are evaluated, the physician will determine the charges and bill you for any remaining balance. Fees will differ for surgical appointments. Prompt payment discounts are available for patients with no insurance coverage who pay their bill within two weeks of receiving their first statement.
What forms of payment can I use?
Dermatology Associates of Wisconsin will accept cash, personal checks, money orders, FSA, HRA, debit card, and VISA or MasterCard credit card payments.
What are "In-Network Providers" and "Out of Network Providers"?
In-network providers are providers who are contracted with your specific insurance plan. When providers are contracted with your plan, the benefits from the insurance company are much greater than if the provider is not contracted (out of network) with your plan. When providers are out of network with your plan, the benefits will be much less from the insurance company than if the provider was in-network.
